Falsehood Part 2: False Teachers

Falsehood Part 2: False Teachers In our world today, young people have many options to choose from after graduating high school. They’ve come to a point in life to pick a profession and a path by which to get there. In the past, many chose to go to college, then medical school or law school because the career of a doctor or lawyer paid very well and afforded them a life of luxury. Today, we find these young people taking a third option; seminary school. Just like with other professions, they go to a four year college, then they’re off to the seminary. They learn what they’re taught by their professors. They learn about the holy scriptures, how to prepare sermons, how to be a counselor to people, and how to make their presentation to people. When their time at the seminary is finished, they obtain their degree, minister’s license, and maybe a doctorate of divinity. Then they start shopping around for the church that offers the highest salary and the best benefits ( parsonage, car, or other perks), just like anybody else chooses which job to take. These people are looking for a career that will afford them a comfortable life. They’re not truly concerned with spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ or bringing you into a closer personal relationship with God. They’re here to make money. They’re here to sell you religion. They may not even truly believe what they’ve been taught of the scriptures and are now teaching to you. They may not even believe that Christ came and died on the cross for our sins at all. All these people know, is that by preaching about God and Jesus Christ, they can afford that new house, sports car, speedboat, or whatever else it is that they covet. Remember everybody, covetousness is sin!. Even more shameful is the fact that those who are actually called to minister, study under their pastor, get their minister’s license, and step out on their own aren’t taken as seriously as these false teachers with their degrees hanging on the walls of their fancy offices. The true children of the Light who answer the call in their heart to spread God’s word are often looked over, even mocked because they didn’t go to “bible college”. These are the ministers who truly know God and want to help you to come to know him. They often work full-time jobs all week, take care of their church building, plan their sermons, visit church members, and pray for all of us on their own time. These ministers often won’t accept love offerings taken up for them, much less a salary from the church. They minister because they’re called, not because they’re paid! If this is the way of the modern church, I don’t want to have anything to do with it. Give me the church of the first century that Jesus started and the apostles spread across the world. 2 Corinthians 11:12 to 11:15 12 But what I do, that I will do, that I may cut off occasion from them which desire occasion; that wherein they glory, they may find even as we. 13 For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ. 14 And no marvel; for Satan himself transformed into an angel of light. 15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according Pete 3-29-09
