The Sword of Truth
The Sword of Truth
Ezekiel 11:8-10 (King James Version)
8Ye have feared the sword; and I will bring a sword upon you, saith the Lord GOD.
9And I will bring you out of the midst thereof, and deliver you into the hands of strangers, and will execute judgments among you.
10Ye shall fall by the sword; I will judge you in the border of Israel; and ye shall know that I am the LORD.
When God says the sword will fall upon you, he means more that the blades of Israels enemies. In the following lines, he says I shall judge you. He will judge us by his Word that he has given us to live by.Thus, his Word that he will judge us by is his Sword which will fall upon us.
I'm a big fan of Terry Goodkind's Sword of Truth books, but I carry a different sword from Richard Rahl. Mine is not forged of steel and imbued with some mystic's powers, it's the written Word of my God. It's my bible.
Hebrews 4:12 (King James Version)
12For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
The Word of God, the Holy Bible, my sword, is so sharp that it can serperate a persons soul and spirit, joints and marrow. The Word, not the blade can cut to a person's very soul. Steel can cut that which is tangible, but the Word can cut even that which is unseen.
Revelation 1:16 (King James Version)
16And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
When Jesus returns to judge the world, he doesn't carry an iron sword in his mouth, he comes forth speaking the Word of God and those who are unworthy will fall under the Sword of Truth.
