Hero

Hero Over the past few years, I've seen some of my favorite childhood heroes come to life in big budget movies. Ironman was always a favorite, Batman of course, but The Incredible Hulk was truely my all-time favorite. He was a hero and a monster at the same time. He was a regular guy with the violent uncontrollable beast inside of him who destoyed so much around him when unleashed, especially the relationships of his alter ego, David Bruce Banner. In the end though, The Hulk always managed to do the right thing and save the day. Anyway, all of these heroes had their special powers. The Hulk had superhuman strength, could crash through walls, bend steel with his bare hands, and could leap for what seemed like miles at a time. Ironman had his flying suit and all of the cool weapons that came with it. Batman had the the most amazing gadgets and inventions to help him fight crime. In the end though, all of these comic book heroes can't compare to my true hero. My true hero didn't come out of a comic book. He is very real. There's a biography about His life, His works, and the Works of His Father that has been written and translated, generation after generation for thousands of years. Our modern archaeologists continue to prove the accuracy of this book and the people in it time after time, even though many of them originally set out to disprove it. My true hero doesn't wear a mechanical suit, use gadgets on His utility belt, or turn green and grow huge muscles when He's angry. He has raised people from the dead, given sight to the blind, speech to the mute, cured leprocy, caused the crippled to walk, done miracle after miracle, and even given Himself as a sacrifice for all of us sinners. How could anyone be more of a hero? My hero is Jesus Christ. I'd be happy to tell you more about Him if you don't know Him. May the peace and love of the Lord be with all of you, Pete. 8/23/10
