Spreading The Word

Spreading The Word I've recently started doing something new in my walk with the Lord. You see, since being saved a couple of years ago, (even though I've been a Christian all my life) I've kind of started collecting bibles. I can't recall how many I have right now if that gives you any idea. Anyway, sometimes I'll buy an inexpensive version of a certain translation and end up going back and buying a nicer one later. So, I've ended up with some bibles that I haven't been using. So, a couple of weeks ago on the Follow Me Tour, I met a young man who needed a bible. Even though John had several paperback bibles for us to give out, I gave him my own bible I was carrying with me. This past weekend, I took two more with me. One of my tour brothers didn't have one of the translations I had with me, so he took one and one of our musical guests said he could use a new bible, so he took the other. I got inspired by the Christian metal group, God's Offspring at a tour event about a month ago. They take a case of bibles with them to give away at their shows. I just got to thinking of how good of a thing this is to do. What a better way to touch people than to hand them the word of God to take home with them for free? So, this is one thing I've added to my ministry. Any time I can afford to, I'm gonna pick up extra bibles to give to people. I've still got a couple out of my personal collection I'm gonna give out and a couple I picked up at a yardsale last week. I hope I can keep doing this for a long time. Pete 8-26-09
