Keeping the Ministry Growing
Keeping the Ministry Growing
I've been working hard to keep New Disciples Ministry growing. In the past few weeks I've created pages on Facebook and Twitter to go along with our other pages on myspace and our website. All together, I manage the New Disciples Ministry Myspace page and Myspace Group, the New Disciples Chapter 2 Myspace page, the Hardcore Disciples Myspace page, the NDM Facebook page, the NDM Twitter page, a profile on agapejesus.com, and the NDM website. I also help with my home church's Myspace page and the page for Survivor Ministries as well, not to mention my own personal pages. Needless to say, I'm spending a lot of time in front of a computer trying to keep things updated, checking and answering messages, policing the comments and the friends list for inappropriate materials. Did I mention the fact that I have a full-time job I work 5 nights a week and a Sunday school class to prepare lessons for and teach? Somewhere in between I visit other churches and have a personal life as well.
When I first started New Disciples, some of my friends were interested and involved in it, but as time went on, their lives took them in different directions. For the most part, I've been doing everything by myself, with moral support from my fiance' Tonya. This ministry has become my baby pretty much. On June 11th this little ministry will turn one year old. As we approach this milestone, I've had something on my mind. I think it's time to bring in some partners. People of similar interests and values, but not carbon copies of myself. I'm not sure of how I'm going to go about this, because right now, I don't have any candidates in mind. I'd like to find people I can trust to share the ministry's logins and passwords with, so they can post their own writings on the blog, help with maintaining the profiles and website, like posting new pics and images, maybe even help with original artwork and so on. I've still got a lot to think about, but I know that eventually, this is going to grow into more than I can do by myself and it would help this ministry to grow by bringing in more views, talents, and so on. Maybe something will happen to show me the path to follow.
Thanks; Pete.
