'That's Nice'
'That's Nice'
I was texting with my niece Rebecca tonight about something that's been going on in my life lately. I also had a conversation online one night with my friend Marion about the same subject. It's about how I've been really up and down spiritually lately. I've been experiencing some really awesome things in recent times through the online ministry and the Follow Me Tour. Things like ministering one on one to a young man who had been involved with gangs and his grandmother was concerned about him doing so again, or talking to a young woman from Pakistan named Saheed about being a Christian living greatly outnumbered by muslims have been great experiences for me. Also chatting from time to time to my friend Arturs from Latvia about our walk with God and the numerous experiences I've shared with my Follow Me Tour brothers on our travels have made for great spiritual growth. The only drawback is that like my friend Marion, when I talk to my family about it, the only response I get is 'that's nice'. It really kills the spiritual high you're on when you get that from the people you love. It's not that they're not believers or not walking with God, it's just that they're not On Fire for God! It's tough when you get to a certain place in your walk with God, and those people who are dearest to you inadvertently knock you down. When you're living for God like that, you feel intnse highs when you're doing good and you want someone to share them with. On the other hand, when you're living like that and you fall, you feel searing pain when God feels distant from you and you need your loved ones to understand and be there for you. The thing is though, since they're not living on fire like that , they just don't comprehend these things and Can't be there to share it with you. It's like hitting the highest of highs and the lowest of lows and being totally alone in both places. It's like standing with your arms spread wide on a mountaintop and no one being there to feel the rush of the cold winds blowing through you when you're flying high and like drowning in quicksand without anyone to reach out a lifeline when you fail. It's just a lonely place to be sometimes. On the other hand though, you do have God there with you the whole time, so maybe the feelings of hurt are for your loved ones because the aren't able to experience these feelings. Have any of you ever felt like this?
